| Dear Parents, Students and Friends, The new academic year is well on its way and we are almost back into the swing of everyday life in Taipei.
To returning families, I trust you had a relaxing break, whether in Taiwan or abroad, and are rested, recharged and ready for another year. To new families, I hope that your children will settle quickly and easily into this lovely school that you have chosen for them, and that they will soon make new friends and integrate into their new lives. If new to Taipei, I am sure that you will find life in Taipei as interesting, enjoyable and rewarding as my family and I have done. The PTA is a fabulous group of parents (mostly moms!) who come together on the first Monday of every month. Our main objectively is obviously to work together for the benefit of our children and the school, but it's also a great opportunity to meet people and socialize with parents. Many have also found this a great support network, whether it be finding an orthodontist, an organic food outlet or a great holiday destination! We are responsible for a wide range of events and activities: from our annual fund raising events like the Christmas Bazaar, the Gala Evening and the Summer Fair, to the ongoing activities of managing our Class Rep network, second hand uniform sales, our Cafeteria Committee or providing concert refreshments. We are a diverse group of parents with equally diverse skills and interests, so whether you're an exceptional fundraiser, a keen baker, an avid crafter, a behind the scenes accountant or a social butterfly, you will be sure to find something that you enjoy. As parents of a child in either the British Infant Section or the British Junior Section, you are automatically members of the BSPTA. We meet on the first Monday of the month at 8.45 in the Parents' Café. The Parents' Café is situated off the Reception Area adjacent to the elevator and opposite the stairs to the library. 親愛的家長、學生及朋友們： 這一個新的學年已經展開， 眼看一切都已漸漸進入軌道。 首先在這裡我謹代表家長會， 歡迎我們原有的家長和小朋友們， 希望您們無論是出國還是留在台灣，都度過了一個愉快的暑假而且做好準備，迎接新的學年。而對於新加入學校的家長和小朋友們，我希望大家都能很快的融入這一個美好的新學校，小朋友們也可以很快的認識很多新朋友。 特別是如果您們是第一次來到台北， 相信您對台北的感覺也會和我們剛到時一樣，感到又新鮮，又有趣。 英國小學部家長會是由一群友善及熱心的家長組成（大部份是媽媽們！）我們於每一個月的第一個星期一早上開會。我們的主旨在於為學校小朋友們提供更好的學習環境。但是這一個組織也會成為您認識新朋友的最佳機會。很多家長們更是經由參與家長會而得到很多新的資訊。 家長會每年主要舉辦和協辦的活動有大型活動如： 聖誕園遊會， 年度主題晚宴， 夏季園遊會，以及一些小型項目如：經手班級代表業務事項， 義賣二手制服活動， 學校營養午餐小組， 和提供學生音樂會的茶點服務等等。我們非常歡迎各位家長們能踴躍加入我們的行列。 無論您有什麼專長與適好，家長會都能有您可以發揮及享受的空間。 只要您是英國部幼稚園或是英國小學部的家長，，您就自動成為英國幼稚園及小學部家長會的一員。我們每個月第一個星期一早上八點四十五分在家長休息室舉辦家長會會議，家長休息室就位於總機旁邊電梯及通往圖書館的樓梯附近。我們誠摯邀請您有空來喝杯咖啡並參與家長會會議。 如果您有任何問題，也歡迎您用 tbspta@gmail.com 郵件與我們聯絡。 謝謝 Linda Kuys 英國幼稚園及小學部家長主席 敬上 |
