| Dear Parents,
Both my husband and I originate from Germany and we have been living in Taipei for the last three years. We have two children ¡V our son Louis and our daughter Antonia attend the German Kindergarten.
We really enjoy living in Taipei ¡V it certainly is an excellent opportunity to experience first hand the wonderful Taiwanese hospitality. Having already lived in Hong Kong and Singapore, we are delighted that we can go on discovering this amazing part of the world.
As the new Parents Support Council Chairperson (PSC), I would like to explain briefly the goals of the TES PSC and projects for 2009:
 * To plan, organise and implement financially viable fund raising events to benefit TES and local charities
* To provide communication and information on matters of relevance and to facilitate social interaction among the parents
* To support school events by providing human resources and logistics whenever necessary
The TES PSC committee is made up as follows:
a. two representatives from each of the four sections
b. an elected TES PSC Chairperson (elected at theTES Annual General Meeting)
c. a representative from the TES Board of Governors
On 29th November 2008, we finished our annual biggest fund raising event, Christmas Bazaar, which was another big success. Many thanks to all helping parents, students, staff and donors for your generous contribution and support. This was surely the busiest and by far the most "Christmasy" Christmas Bazaar which we have organised. There was an absolutely fantastic community atmosphere.
Once again, we expect this year to be a dynamic and vibrant year. There are some very exciting events taking place in the next few months. PSC will hold its Gala Evening at the Shangri-La Far Eastern Plaza Hotel Taipei on 25th April and the Summer Fair (together with the British Section PTA) on 6th June and any books that you would like to donate to this very worthwhile event will be very much appreciated.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any suggestions or comments on how the TES PSC could be more effective in achieving its goals. I would just like to add that I am very excited about my position as PSC Chair and am very much looking forward to hearing from you.
